About Orthotin
Founded in 2013, OrthoTiN LLC is dedicated to designing and marketing high demand devices and surgical products for the Orthopedic Industry. The principals of OrthoTiN have been active in the industry for almost 30 years, and their purpose is focused upon the development of high-performance, all-titanium, alloy-based implant systems that include pioneering advancement in the use of ceramic, thin-film implant coatings.

George Makris
President
George has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is a co-founder of OrthoTiN. His background spans more than 35 years with a focus on total joint replacement, specifically knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, spine, and more than 25 years in patient specific implant design and manufacturing with a particular expertise in thin film ceramic coatings for medical devices. George is also an adjunct professor at NJIT with the Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering Technology Departments, teaching CAD for Orthopedics and Manufacturing Process Design.
As OrthoTiN’s co-founder, President, and Director of Engineering, George has been instrumental in development of the OrthoTiN TMJ System implemented in a seamless CAD/CAM process with attention to design principles, high quality, and quick delivery.

Stan Matlak
Vice President of Operations
He is responsible for all Sales & Marketing, Business development establishing manufacturing supply chain and sales distribution network.

Samuel Benevenia
Senior Project Engineer
Sam is our Senior Project Engineer and has been with OrthoTiN since 2017. He is primarily responsible for maxillofacial and orthopedic implant design and management of OrthoTiN’s engineering team. He is also involved with software workflow development focused on medical device innovation as well as advancing manufacturing methods. The variety and difficulty of the challenges associated with patient matched device design forces Sam to think outside the box and approach a solution from multiple perspectives, making him a more robust problem solver.

Carlie Adair
Product Manager
Carlie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2020. She has experience managing and executing engineering projects and is passionate about working on projects that focus on accessibility for all.
As TMJ Product Manager, Carlie oversees TMJ design projects and works with other engineers to ensure high quality product. She also designs maxillofacial implants in line with quality standards and GMP. She has worked on engineering protocols and test reports for data analysis.
